An ultra-safe car seat paired with a maneuverable, easily manageable city stroller.
A travel system is a stroller and a car seat that click together; getting your whole travel system as one purchase ensures they’ll click together easily without an adapter. Britax car seats are known for their safety, and the Britax stroller that comes with this B-Safe car seat has some nice features. In particular, it’s got 3-wheel maneuverability and enough suspension to deal with everyday bumps. Not bad for a medium weight stroller. (It’s easy for heavy jogging strollers to offer a smooth ride, but seeing a smooth ride in a medium-weight stroller is more rare).
The stroller is a one-hand fold, but you have to make sure you’re doing it right (press the grey button along the side). The canopy is nice and sturdy with curved metal pieces holding it up, which is great if you have kids who like to tug on the canopy. The basket is a nice size, but if you love to fill your diaper bag to the brim, you’ll have trouble cramming it in. The car seat is very user friendly when it comes to snapping it in and out of the stroller and car without waking up your napping baby.
It’s a narrow car seat with high sides, which makes it very safe, but it also means your kid doesn’t have a lot of wiggle room. It comes with thick padding and a removable infant insert. There are mixed reports about the adjustable harness; some parents say it’s very easy to use, and others have trouble getting the hang of it, or complain that it gets stuck. On the whole, the biggest complaint we’ve heard about this travel system is that people miss the child footrest which was included in a previous version of this stroller.
